The China Primatological Society (CPS) is an nonprofit educational and scientific organization affiliated to the International Primatological Society.

PSC will be formally launched on Aug 12, 2014 during the 25th congress of International Primatological Society, by over a hundred of Chinese primate researchers. The PSC, whose mission is 'To promote research into all aspects of primate biology, conservation and management.' comprise six main goals:  

1) To promote research on nonhuman primates, and to facilitate the cooperation between primatologists including meetings of specialist groups, scientific activities, research and educational projects related to primatology.

2) To establish and enhance scientific collaboration and share information among Chinese and international researchers/societies.

3) To promote conservational and ecological research in natural habitats of primates, and to provide scientific data for conservation of endangered species.

4) To enhance the use, maintenance and breeding of primates in captivity, under adequate scientific status;

5) To introduce knowledge of primates and enhance public awareness on primate conservation.

 PSC (as formally named China primate specialist group which belong to Mammal Society of China) is very strong scientifically and holds regular scientific meetings since 1992. It also has held four international meetings of primatology in 1981, 1995, 2002 and 2006, respectively. The 'Chinese Primate research and Conservation' is the PSC journal published since 1994.
